Scripting the Shoot: Walking
around a building and its site prior to photography
is a first meeting with a new acquaintance. Establishing
a dialogue with the building and its users, looking
at it and walking around it to see the light within
the space and the light falling on it are time well
spent. In this way, aspects of the volume, materials,
colors, textures are revealed. The 'fun' of it all
is then placing that three-dimensional world in the
two-dimensional world of the photograph. The following
three photographs are recent examples of that process.
